Senior VAT Manager

City of London, hybrid working model

A global consulting brand is hiring an ambitious and experienced indirect tax professional to add to their established team in London. Reporting directly to the Head of Indirect Tax, the successful candidate will join a large, high-profile team with excellent resources.

This position is purposed to:

• Provide direction and leadership to the indirect tax function, including management of direct reports in VAT
• Act as consultant to a number of clients/stakeholders
• Make active contributions to tax strategy from a VAT perspective
• Provide key tax planning advice
• Contribute to tax team/cross-functional projects as related to indirect taxes

This position is advisory and business partnering-led in nature, supporting on transactions and key projects which impact the business. However, ownership of VAT will include overseeing and advising on compliance processes, including quarterly VAT returns.

The successful candidate

• Substantial VAT experience gained in practice
• Strong UK VAT compliance/advisory experience, with international exposure advantageous
• Prior experience in a client/market-facing position considered advantageous
• Experience in managing relations with business and tax authorities

Benefits include

• Base starting salary of £90,000 - £110,000
