About the Role
As the Vertical Strategy Manager, Hospitality and Payment Products, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Adyen's growth strategy within the hospitality sector. This is a global role with a primary focus on the EMEA region and the opportunity to contribute to strategic projects worldwide. You will be the voice of the customer for hotels & resorts, online travel agencies, cruises and travel leasing, driving product innovation and market expansion.
This role requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and a passion for payments, combined with exceptional strategic thinking, a proven track record of driving commercial success, a strong bias for action, and a love of data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Vertical Strategy & Growth: Defining the overall strategic direction for Adyen's Unified Commerce Hospitality vertical, encompassing lodging, rental cars, and cruises. Setting ambitious yet achievable growth targets, identifying key market opportunities, and developing actionable plans to capitalize on those opportunities.
- Customer & Market Advocacy: Understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by hospitality businesses. Acting as a trusted advisor and advocate by listening to customers, conducting market research, and analyzing vertical-specific customer behavior.
- Commercial Enablement & Competitive Advantage: Empowering the sales team to effectively sell Adyen's solutions within the hospitality vertical. Collaborating with sales to develop effective sales motions and creating compelling sales materials.
- Partnership Management: Supporting the Commercial and Product Partnerships teams to ensure Adyen maintains best-in-class integrations with key players in the hospitality ecosystem.
- Product Development & Enhancement: Participating in the development of payment product strategies and tactics, leading cross-functional teams to build and launch new digital products.
- Market Research & Roadmap: Conducting thorough market research to identify key trends impacting the hospitality sector and informing Adyen's business strategy and product roadmap.
- Collaboration & Vendor Management: Communicating and collaborating with internal and external business partners to ensure alignment on product vision.
Qualifications:
- Payments and Hospitality Expertise: 5-7 years of experience in payments in strategy, consulting or related go-to-market roles.
- Strategic Thinking & Execution: Proven ability to develop and execute product and go-to-market strategies.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability and enthusiasm for collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Industry Knowledge & Relationship Building: Develops expertise in the payments space and builds a strong vendor network.
