Senior/Principal Consultant Power Cables

We are looking for an experienced consultant / engineer in the area of Underground and Submarine Power Cables to strengthen our Power Cable Team.

DNV is strongly expanding its activities in the asset management field. One driver is the installation of windfarms and interconnectors, where underground power cables and submarine power cables play a crucial role. Items that are being handled vary from quality related aspects to failure analysis.

As a Consultant / Engineer Underground and Submarine Power Cables you will be part of the Power Cable Team in the Asset Management & Digital System Operation Department in PowerGrids, and together with other colleagues, you will help our customers achieve sustainable, world-class asset management processes and performance.

You will provide engineering and consultancy services to customers in the utility industry in predominantly Germany with the option to participate in projects worldwide. You will be responsible for management, execution and acquisition of projects in the field of power cables. You gradually build an understanding of the market we operate in and can deliver high quality content.

You report to the Energy headquarters in Arnhem, the Netherlands. But you will focus on the German market, where the German home office is in Dresden. However, we can offer work hybrid and stimulate a healthy work-life balance.

The salary for a senior position is in grade 8 or 9, and the salary will be agreed upon based on the range of the DNV Germany salary frame and your experience and skills.

The salary for a principal position is in grade 10 or 11, and the salary will be agreed upon based on the DNV Germany salary frame range and your experience and skills.

A full-time position is offered with an indefinite contract.

We are looking for a colleague who has solid skills and knowledge of power cables and is able to develop and maintain good relations with customers such as grid operators, power plants and industries.

And:

• You have at least 8 years of experience in Underground and/or submarine Power Cables.
• You have an academic degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering or similar.
• You have proven skills and capabilities in power cable engineering, design and quality assurance.
• You have good knowledge of the most recent IEC standards and CIGRE guidelines.
• You are able to lead (inter)national projects and function as a trusted partner of our customers.
• You are able to work independently and responsibly and are enthusiastic about picking up challenging tasks.
• You have a strong professional network in the energy industry.
• You are a well-known expert in cable-specific skill areas.
• With initiative, adaptability, and excellent cooperation skills, you are an enthusiastic team player willing to share your knowledge and skills and work as a team.
• Excellent communication skills, your English language skills are vital, both verbal and written, and your German language skills will be a plus.
• You are willing to travel (inter)nationally on a regular basis.
