About the Role

Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for an experienced Service Engineer to join a successful agricultural dealership based at their Winchester depot. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work with top-class machinery from leading brands such as CLAAS and Horsch.

The successful candidate will have experience in the agricultural, commercial vehicle, or construction industry, ensuring that machinery is serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards.

Location: Winchester
Salary: £25,000 - £45,000 per annum + Company Pension + On-site Parking
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (39-hour working week)
Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and maintain machinery to manufacturer specifications to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and other mechanical faults.
  • Operate diagnostic software via a laptop when required (training provided).
  • Identify and report machine defects, promoting additional company services where possible.
  • Complete detailed reports on completed work, including photographs and accurate documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience working with agricultural, commercial vehicles, or construction machinery is essential.
  • Ideally, hold a relevant qualification in Land-Based Engineering or a similar field.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems.
  • Ability to interact with customers professionally, build strong relationships, and provide excellent service.
  • Good communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to operate machinery on-site for testing.
