About the role
This is a great opportunity for anyone keen to develop a career in a supportive, caring environment. Join us and you'll be building your skills so you can open doors to other exciting NHSBT roles. For now, as a Sister/Charge Nurse, you'll lead a team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisors, making sure they're motivated, well-trained, and proficient. In short, it's all about running safe blood donation sessions, which includes assessing donor blood and maintaining your team's skills.
Initially, you'll be based on our mobile team, but will soon transfer to our brand-new Blood Donation Centre. You can expect to be busy day-to-day, working variable hours and days including evenings, weekends and bank holidays - there won't be any night shifts.
About You
A nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration Part 1, you'll have great leadership skills. You'll also be up to speed on regulatory requirements and have deep clinical expertise. Above all, you'll have an unwavering drive for excellence, best practice and high quality care. If you've got what it takes to make critical decisions that affect donor safety, this role could be for you.
