Job Description

Are you an Endoscopy nurse who is looking for a new challenge, who demonstrate effective and sustainable leadership and management skills?

Can you help us to deliver and develop a diverse range of endoscopic therapeutic interventions? If you are enjoying sharing your endoscopic knowledge by teaching and developing others, experienced, passionate, dynamic and forward thinking individual, we would like to hear from you.

Key areas of responsibility will be agreed with successful candidate when they start, such as responsible for supporting and developing the nursing team and the multidisciplinary teams in endoscopy.

You will have the opportunity to lead by example and support the safe delivery of individualized care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus using radiofrequency ablation (HALO) and Endo Bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS). We also offer a pleural day service, general anaesthetic sessions and a GI physiology service and capsule endoscopy.

Our three endoscopy departments have gained JAG accreditation. All our departments offer a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision
  • To assist the ward manager in leading the nursing team and deputise in their absence
  • Monitor standards of nursing care and take appropriate action to maintain and improve them
  • To respond to patients, relatives and carers concerns as they arise and take remedial action as required

  • Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Relevant specialist course - critical care / renal course or equivalent experience
