Interim Health & Safety Manager

Manchester / Liverpool / Wigan / Warrington / St Helens

3 - 6-month contract

Outside IR35 - Limited Co. suitable

£350.00 - £400.00 per day

Manufacturing / Packaging / FMCG / Blue-chip client

I am recruiting for a world leading packaging manufacturing organisation who require an Interim Site Health & Safety Manager. They operate a world class manufacturing facility, adhering to the highest operating standards. Initially, there is a commitment of 3 months with a likelihood of extension.

For the position of Site Health & Safety Manager, you will be required to conduct the following daily duties:

  • Managing Health, Safety and Environment Management systems and activities at all levels of the site to ISO 45001 & 14001 standard frameworks
  • Arrange H&S training & inductions for all plant employees - toolbox talks etc.
  • Supporting key stakeholders on all HSE responsibilities
  • Apply relevant technical guidance and control physical, chemical, electrical, mechanical and ergonomic hazards and potential risk
  • Facilitate a risk assessment programme for continuous review
  • Maintain database, monitor trends and improvement opportunities
  • Audits, plan safety tests and ensure response teams are appropriately trained
  • Ensure site visitors/contractors have the correct H&S plans and risk assessments in place
  • Present incidents & near misses' data for management meetings and take corrective actions
  • Chair a programme of H&S committee meetings

The successful Interim Health & Safety Manager will need to have the following attributes:

  • Proven and substantial background in HSE, within a large fast-paced manufacturing organisation (400+ employees)
  • NEBOSH Diploma / ISO 14001 & 45001 standards
  • Experience of managing external parties and 3 rd party contractors
  • Experience implementing Environment Management Systems
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
