The Power2 Service is a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency partnership between Children's Social Care, Adult Social Care, Public Health and the Voluntary Sector, created in September 2019. Power2 won the prestigious MJ Award in 2022 for Innovation in Children's and Adults for its work with vulnerable children and young adults aged 10-25 at risk of exploitation; and those displaying high risk behaviours which impact on their home and education stability. The team focuses on working with children/young adults and their family/carer networks who have experienced trauma and been impacted by cumulative harm by using a range of trauma-informed approaches. Each team member has their own specialisms and expertise and have all been trained in specialist frameworks such as Attachment Theory; Developmental and Relational Trauma; and Attachment, Regulation and Competency.
We are looking to recruit an experienced, skilled and creative Team Manager to continue the Power2 journey and build on its success. The team currently comprises a Senior Social Worker, Children and Adults Social Worker, Adult Social Care Worker, Educational Psychologist, Drama therapist and keyworkers from Barnardo's, St Giles Trust and Gazebo Theatre.
The post holder will:
- Be a qualified social worker, with practice and managerial experience of working with children and young adults at risk of exploitation.
- Show an understanding and commitment to the creative development of trauma-informed practice and act as a champion within the service for restorative/relational best practice.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and have a proven track record of motivating and building highly effective teams, achieving best outcomes.
- Effectively evaluate the team to measure impact and outcomes and have the ability to produce comprehensive evaluation reports and present them to key stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate the team, directly supervise the social workers, keyworkers with matrix management of supervision of staff from other disciplines.
- Ensure the provision of a high quality and effective social work service to meet the needs of children and their families, safeguarding children in a timely manner within statutory guidelines.
- Represent the service within multi-agency forums and to contribute to the development of policy and practice in Children's Services across the city.
- Ensure this social work service is fully integrated within the wider Children's Services in order to promote positive outcomes for children and their families.
