As a Software QA Engineer, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of our websites and backend software services, which support a diverse range of products and users.

About the role:

As a Software QA Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of our websites and backend services that support our users and software products. You will work closely with developers and the QA Teams to plan, execute, and document tests for our websites, existing products, and new products in development, focusing on ROLI's user experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience with testing various aspects of website and web technology, different OSs, and desktop/mobile devices. To succeed in this role, the candidate must also have some knowledge and a keen interest in software QA testing and demonstrate key competencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the QA team and developers to ensure consistent quality of our websites and backend services (e.g. API, backend tools such as payment gateway).
  • Your primary focus will be testing our main website, while also occasionally evaluating other websites and software products that rely on our backend services.
  • Assist in various QA activities, including:
    • Understand the technical structure and integration that our website and software product features are based on.
    • Plan tests based on each project's scope and definitions.
    • Execute planned test cases, as well as create/maintain test plans and test cases as required.
    • Identify issues and produce detailed bug reports, bringing them to resolution with developers through iterations of fixing and testing.
    • Assist in the maintenance of existing products/websites, as well as provide support towards new product/website developments across multiple operating systems, browsers, and devices.
  • Represent the interests of the user, using hands-on testing to find ways of improving the user experience of every aspect of our software and providing feedback to the team.
  • Take part in project/product planning to provide feedback from QA perspectives.
  • Liaise with the QA team to improve the quality of our products and QA practices.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with web technologies and standard UX associated with web technologies.
  • Experience using various devices, browsers, and OS versions.
  • Knowledge/experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development process.
  • Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with an ability to discuss complex problems.
  • Excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with excellent written English.
  • Superb and demonstrable time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • An interest in music and music technology.
Bonus points:
  • Ability to play musical instruments and/or experience with music tech software.
  • Understanding of the ecommerce order lifecycle (order creation, shipping, promo codes, analytics, etc.).
  • Knowledge/experience with CMS and payment gateways.
