Job summary

Are you interested in developing your dietetic skills within the community setting? This post offers experience of home enteral nutrition, our community adult undernutrition pathways including working in care homes and patients' own homes and has a specific focus on developing frailty pathways.

Harrogate dietetics is a small, friendly department of staff based in Harrogate Hospital. We provide a service across both acute and community settings and due to maternity leaves within our community team we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, innovative dietitian looking to work in community settings.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work with colleagues delivering high quality care to patients requiring oral nutrition support and enteral feeding in their own homes, care facilities, and the community hospital in Ripon. There will also be the opportunity to work with the community team leader to deliver training on the nutrition support care pathway in care homes and other community teams.

Job responsibilities

Harrogate Nutrition and Dietetics service is an enthusiastic, empowered, inclusive team that supports and lives the Trust's values. We welcome dietetic students on A, B, and C placements largely from Leeds Beckett University, and the successful post-holder will be expected to take part in pre-registration training.

To provide specialist dietetic advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and other health care professionals within the community setting. This will include supporting the Home Enteral Nutrition Service and the Adult Undernutrition Care Pathway.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Recognised degree or postgraduate qualification in Human Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • UK Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association or other professional indemnity insurance.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year post-qualification dietetic experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of delivering presentations.
