Grade: Specialty Dr
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Working Hours: 40 hours
Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS dynamic inpatient team in Southampton, Hampshire. This position is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract, offering competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide high-quality psychiatric services to adults, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions. You will develop and implement individualised care plans, provide therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, managing complex cases, providing specialist advice, and engaging in service evaluation, audit, and research to enhance the quality of care provided. You will also be responsible for liaising with external professionals and carers, preparing written and oral evidence for hearings, and ensuring effective handover to colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Experience working in adult psychiatry.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in service evaluation and research is desirable.
