Job overviewAn exciting opportunity to be part of a special team.
Ward 23 is a unique Cardiology ward as we also have the opportunity to rotate into our Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU) which is a day elective cardiac unit caring for up to 16 patients pre and post procedures such as angiograms, cardiac ablations, and pacemaker insertions. On Ward 23, we have 19 inpatient beds to care for patients post-acute cardiac events and those patients requiring ongoing treatments and investigations.
Ward 23 and CIU is a friendly team and exciting place to work with no two days the same. We have close working relationships with the wider cardiology department which includes the specialist nursing and research teams. We are also at an exciting stage of our transformation work and we will be the one acute site for Cardiology patient care from the 1st April. We are looking for dynamic, motivated nurses willing to deliver the highest standards of compassionate care to our patients.
This role requires an active UK NMC Registration

Person specification Qualifications- NMC Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing
- Demonstrable clinical experience
- Demonstrate Cardiology experience.
- Planning and prioritisation skills
- Non IV and IV medication administration
- Experience in complying with nursing, infection control and risk management policies
- Ability to demonstrate fundamental nursing knowledge and practice skills
- Knowledge of conditions relevant to Cardiology
- Adaptive to unpredictable workloads
- Ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions
- Highly motivated
- Flexible approach to the needs of the service
- Ability to demonstrate compassion
- Ability to recognise stress in self and manage it appropriately
- Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
