Staff Nurse - Gynaecology Outpatients

Main duties of the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join us on the Gynaecology Outpatients Department with flexible hours over 7 days.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic, hardworking nurses, who have the ability, passion and knowledge to take on a busy outpatient environment, that involves undertaking assisting the clinician carrying out day case procedures.
We currently run 7 ambulatory sessions per week seeing approximately 35 patients. We have 4 Ambulatory consultants that you would be working closely with. In the Ambulatory suite, we perform a number of different procedures, these include hysteroscopy, removal of fibroids and polyps, cystoscopy, endometrial ablation.
We are one of a few hospital trusts who have just introduced a new procedure Sonata using pioneering technology to enhance patient care. The successful individual would also work in our recovery suite managing the admission and discharge of Ambulatory patients. All of our registered staff complete a comprehensive training package to enable them to deliver the best possible care to patients in procedure and recovery. As well as Ambulatory, the candidate would also participate in a number of nurse led clinics including GNRH injection, Bladder installations, cystometries and menopause implant clinic. This would be to provide support for patients and clinicians during routine consultations and diagnostic procedures.

Person Specification Skills, Knowledge and Aptitude- Excellent Communication skills, demonstrating effective listening and engaging with patients effectively
- Knowledge of infection control policy and processes
- Demonstrates an interest in Women's health
- Ability to contribute and promote change
- Good time management
- Competencies in clinical tasks such as venepuncture, hormone implant, coil thread check
- Competencies in assisting clinicians during ambulatory gynaecology procedures / recovery of patients post
- RGN
- Evidence of recent professional updating and relevant personal development

- Ability to manage time and work under pressure
