Ward A4 at Wythenshawe Hospital of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced or newly qualified Registered Nurses to join our team. Ward A4 is a General Surgery ward with Medical Outliers.

We are seeking proactive, forward-thinking Nurses who have patient care and experience at their heart. You will possess adept communication skills and be motivated to embrace variety in a fast-paced environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate, and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate, and sensitive manner. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

Person specification Qualifications

• First Level Registration - Registered Nurse Degree or Diploma
• Degree Level 6 study
• Teaching Qualification

Experience

• Awareness of clinical Audit
• Experience of working alone and as part of a team
• Ability to supervise and support others
• Evidence of teaching and assessing skills/ability
• Evidence of undertaking a mentor/preceptor role
• Experience in relevant area of practice

Knowledge

• Knowledge of current Nursing issues
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance
• IT / Word Processing
