This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have experience in managing and overseeing large-scale IT systems? Have you had experience in implementing policy and process standards related to storage management? Do you have a track record of contributing to strategic projects with wide-reaching impacts, particularly in the field of IT solutions?

The Storage Team is focused on delivering storage space from on-premise and public cloud systems, making it easy and safe for our customers to archive, vault, protect and share data, as well as backing up servers, databases and applications. At present, we manage and oversee more than 10 petabytes of data with projections indicating substantial growth, particularly with the acceleration of University Research. You will focus on supporting Research Activity requiring support from Storage professionals.
You will support the University's Research Activities, providing a flexible range of solutions to our Research Community to enable safe and secure data access in line with industry best practice.
You will actively contribute to the implementation of the policy and process standards, service offerings and strategic projects with wide-reaching impacts across the University. You will play a part in shaping and standardising the delivery model and operational practices as we modernise our storage estate.
You will take a role in the development of solutions for issues and problems aiming to raise the quality of the services delivered by the team, fostering a focus on continual service improvement throughout its provision. Leveraging your IT expertise, you will contribute to the development of a service aligned with industry best practices, IT standards and regulatory compliance.
Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role may only be suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants if they are eligible for salary concessions.
