About the RoleThe Strategic Content Creator is responsible for building engaging and audience-targeted content for the LII Technology function. Acting as an integral part of Technology Strategy & Planning, the Strategic Content Creator has primary responsibility for constructing regular senior leadership submissions on the status and highlights of large scale investments, production of CIO communications through various channels including video, intranet articles, PowerPoint presentations & email.
These materials will effectively inform and engage both senior leaders and the wider staff, supporting strategic decision-making and alignment within the Technology function.
About the Department & TeamLII Tech comprises the technology functions supporting the Liberty International Insurance and LM Re businesses. The Technology Strategy and Planning team reports to the LII CIO and is responsible for supporting the delivery of our strategic objectives, with a particular focus on strategy execution, planning and oversight, delivery support through PMO, financial planning and risk governance. The team provides a common and consistent approach to Technology Strategy & Planning across the various Technology Portfolios within the LII Technology function.
Key Responsibilities- Understand the Audience:
- Tailor content to meet the informational needs and technical proficiency levels of both senior leaders and broader staff.
- Ensure that content is relevant, accessible, and engaging for each specific audience.
- Gather and Analyse Information:
- Collect data and insights from various sources within the Technology function, including project updates, performance metrics, and industry trends.
- Analyse complex technical information and distil it into clear and actionable insights.
- Develop concise and informative briefing materials, such as reports, slide decks, and summaries, that highlight key updates, achievements, and issues.
- Use visuals, such as charts and infographics, to enhance understanding and retention of information.
- Ensure Accuracy and Relevance:
- Verify the accuracy of all information included in the content to maintain credibility and reliability.
- Regularly update content to ensure it reflects the most current and relevant information.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with subject matter experts, project leads, and other stakeholders to gather information and gain insights into ongoing initiatives.
- Facilitate feedback loops to continuously improve the quality and relevance of the content.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members and other designers to enhance overall team performance.
- Communication and Presentation Skills:
- Present content in a clear and compelling manner, adapting communication style to suit different audiences.
- Adapt communication style to suit different audiences, driving clarity out of complex technical information to enhance understanding and maximise impact.
- Coordinate the dissemination of content through appropriate channels to ensure timely access by all relevant parties.
- Utilize digital tools and platforms for efficient content distribution and archiving.
- Monitor and Evaluate Feedback:
- Gather feedback from senior leaders and staff to assess the effectiveness of the content and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement changes based on feedback to enhance future briefing and update materials.
- Stay Informed on Industry Trends and Continuous Development:
- Keep abreast of the latest technology trends and advancements to ensure that content is forward-looking and relevant.
- Incorporate insights from industry best practices and competitor analysis into content development.
- Plan and manage timelines for content creation and updates to ensure regular and consistent delivery.
- Balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience within a management consulting practice, particularly with relevance to Financial Services and ideally Insurance.
- Understanding of the business context and strategic priorities of organisations to align content accordingly.
- Demonstrable use of PowerPoint content creation to suit briefing senior leaders in engaging and concise ways whilst delivering the required key messages appropriate to the audience.
- Familiarity with corporate communication strategies, particularly in large organisations or technology-focused environments.
- Proficient in at least one other communications channel with desire to learn others.
- Excellent communication skills, with multi-national experience an advantage.
- Experience of building and maintaining effective business relationships.
- Use and interest in evolving methods of communication to take advantage of trends such as AI would be an advantage, both from evolving the function's current methods and also to act as an 'art of the possible' demonstrator to the wider company.
