Job description: The Expert Engineer Structures Calculations is responsible for the engineering of the relevant high-voltage lines and their used masts/structures within the electrical infrastructure projects (380, 220, 150, 70 and 36 kV).

What you'll do:

• Responsible for the study, the design of new masts or modifications to existing structures.
• Performing specialized calculations, drawing up and following up the planning of the studies taking into account the requirements and the questions of the customers.
• Guiding designers for the development of the calculation models and this, both to internal employees and external design agencies.
• Drawing up the tender files and participating in the purchasing process.
• Delivery of the produced masts, structures at the producer or in the test environment.
• Technical support for the execution on the field as well as the preparation of the works in collaboration with the employees involved within the client Group as well as project managers, suppliers, contractors, customers, etc.
• Monitoring quality management, performing checks and reporting
• Taking the necessary steps for the optimization and implementation of the calculation rules in the software tools used.
• The expert engineer will be active within the Engineering department and will be involved in various projects concerning new high-voltage masts, modifications to existing structures.

What you bring:

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, architecture or master's degree in physics.
• Affinity for technical detailed studies.
• Knowledge and experience with designing steel structures.
• Use of engineering software, 3D, finite element software.
• Familiarity with the relevant standards: e.g. Eurocodes.
• Strong sense of responsibility and good organizational talent.
• Someone who can function well in a team.
• Experience with expertise and/or engineering activity is a plus.
• Knowledge of MsProject, VB.NET, VBA scripting, Fortran is a plus.

Language:

• Excellent knowledge of Dutch or French and a basic knowledge of the other national language.
