As a Surgery Manager you are the beating heart central core of our local site teams. You're the go-to person, the sign poster and font of all knowledge for your local and wider teams. You're the restorer of calm when things get busy and teams are under pressure. You are the shoulder to lean on and giver of advice.

You'll be an expert at multitasking and decision making. You'll be able to prioritize workloads, work in an ever-changing environment with a high attention to detail. You'll have a strong team working ethic with the ability to support all areas of the business as well as your own team.

You'll be the definition of a people person. A delegator and a motivator; people manager. You'll be positive in approach, forward thinking and proactive. If you're ready to be challenged daily with no two days ever quite looking the same, then this role is for you. You could help make a real difference to people's lives.

Main duties of the job

There are a variety of responsibilities and some of them are:

  • Rota and Workforce Management
  • Recruitment and Inductions
  • Clinical Rota Administration
  • Able to answer queries or know who to approach for the answer
  • People Management Tasks
  • Performance Management Tasks
  • Facilities Management
  • Stock Management
  • Financial Transactions
  • Complaints Management
  • Ensure compliance to policies/processes at all times

We are looking for a part-time position of around 20 hours. The main base site will be Victoria Way Surgery, YO32 9GE with the working pattern below:

  • Monday - 07:45am to 12:45pm
  • Tuesday - 07:45am to 12:45pm
  • Thursday - 1pm to 6pm
  • Friday - 1pm to 6pm
Person Specification Experience
  • At least 2 years experience in a people management and customer service environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to be Proactive and Forward Thinking
  • Ability to lead by example with a compassionate and empathetic leadership style
  • Previous NHS/Patient/Care experience is desirable but not essential
