System Administrator / Linux

Join AZAD as a System Administrator and provide architecture, installation, and support of Red Hat or Oracle Linux and/or Solaris operating systems for an enterprise IT department within a regional electric utility organization. This individual will assist developers and application support teams on the implementation of Linux and UNIX platforms and design system architectures that comply with Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).

This is a temporary 120-day consultant position located in Portland, Oregon and hybrid with onsite 1 - 2 days weekly.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a closely related technical discipline is preferred.
2. 10 years combination of education and/or work experience in computer/information technology or related field is required.
3. 5 years of experience working in a large production environment is required.
4. Architecture, installation, and support of Red Hat or Oracle Linux and/or Solaris operating systems.
5. Maintenance and support of Exadata and SPARC server systems.
6. Interconnectivity with Windows servers for file, mail, and print sharing.
7. Experience architecting and configuring Linux systems that utilize high availability RAID and SAN storage solutions.
8. Automating administrative tasks and procedures using KSH, CSH or Perl scripts.
9. Creation of virtual hosts and clients using products such as VMware EXSi and/or VMware EXSi administration experience.
10. Administration and architecture of Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic and/or JBoss application servers.
11. Security hardening and configuration management aligned with FISMA or DoD standards.
