As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the engineering function delivers expert input across project bids and development life cycles. You'll lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of complex electronic and embedded systems that support national defence and maritime safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical direction to a team of System Engineers.
2. Allocate and manage engineering tasks across multiple projects.
3. Develop and deliver Systems Engineering artefacts throughout the full product lifecycle.
4. Drive improvements in systems design tools, processes, and capabilities.
5. Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure integrated and modular design approaches.
6. Present confidently at internal and external design reviews, including to senior stakeholders and customers.
7. Actively contribute to and lead aspects of complex projects to balance technical requirements with cost and schedule goals.
8. Work with customers and suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives and processes.
9. Generate technical proposals and provide accurate estimates of cost, effort, and risk.
10. Chair and contribute to technical reviews, and approve high-quality documentation.
11. Ensure compliance with information security standards and government regulations.

Your Skills & Experience:

1. Proven experience applying Systems Engineering to complex, multidisciplinary engineering programmes.
2. Strong background in developing system requirements and compliant systems design.
3. Skilled in creating and reviewing high-quality technical documentation.
4. Experience using tools such as JAMA and contributing to embedded hardware, software, or firmware development.
5. Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.
6. Experience in defence or similarly regulated industries is advantageous.

Qualifications:

1. A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a Science-based discipline - or equivalent industry experience.
