Job Description
Overview

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the implementation of UK Current Account Switching Services (CASS) to ensure the quality and reliability of client products.

You will work closely with various client stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and continuous improvement of CASS processes and systems. This includes designing, developing, and executing plans to ensure the smooth and efficient switching of current accounts between UK banks.

The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to excel in multiple project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid. Our environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative!

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and insights on CASS implementation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead and manage CASS-related projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring of project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including banks, regulatory bodies, and service providers, to facilitate smooth implementation and operation of CASS.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CASS.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff and stakeholders on CASS processes and systems.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with CASS implementation and operation.
  • Prepare and present reports on CASS performance, issues, and improvements to senior management.
  • Validate data migration and payment redirection processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Support test activities:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
    • Support functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on CASS-related applications.
    • Ensure the test team identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools and ensure their resolution.
    • End-to-end testing of the switching process, including Direct Debits, standing orders, and payment redirection.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
  • An additional course or certification in Business Consulting or Project Management (Waterfall, Agile).
  • Additional Technical Certifications: Scrum Master, PMP, Prince2.
Essential Skills
  • In-depth understanding of CASS processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Project management lifecycle experience with all stages of the product development lifecycle (concept to launch).
  • Experience working with technical teams, architecture, and 3rd party suppliers/providers.
  • Knowledge of main aspects of testing, and ability to lead on these areas in terms of Strategy and Approach.
  • Know how to work formally, keeping a good audit trail of key decisions, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, will often be working with senior stakeholders from the business.
  • Understands the challenges of agile delivery, appreciating the importance of handling multiple streams of delivery running in parallel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in project and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
Experience
  • Extensive experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on current account switching and CASS.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects, including test activities, preferably within the banking sector.
  • Knowledge of banking systems and payment processing.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
