IntroductieAt the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering division, our client develops and designs cutting-edge hardware systems for multiple applications, such as search radars, fire control and combat management equipment for our customers active in both Naval and Ground based domains. The department consists of mechanical, electrical and procured parts engineering teams, as well as their Environmental Competence Center. One of our key teams is the Mechanical Engineering team, comprising about 25 highly educated engineers. They handle the (3D) mechanical designs of products like rotary joints, support structures, radar components, cooling, and filtering units. These designs can be for our internal supply chain but also for their subcontractors to produce and assembly hardware.FunctieomschrijvingAs part of the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Management Team, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with various engineering disciplines such as System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Test Engineering, while also working closely with Supply Chain and internal production teams. Together with your peer, who oversees the mechanical architects and analysts, you will co-lead the Mechanical Engineering team to ensure its success and growth. In this role, you will focus on developing and managing the competencies and skills within your team, in collaboration with the organisation, to maintain a high level of competitiveness. At the same time, you will oversee the deployment and continuous improvement of processes, methods, and tools within the mechanical discipline, ensuring that these are consistently followed during engineering activities. As a leader, you will also take charge of driving the technical innovation roadmap for your area of expertise and supporting your team through the annual HR cycle, fostering their growth and development. This position combines leadership and innovation, offering the opportunity to shape not only the technical direction of the Mechanical Engineering team but also its culture and impact within the broader organization.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering. Experienced people manager with a few years of proven experience in an engineering management role. Team player dedicated to achieving common goals. Strong interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and expectations "Can-do" and "why-not-this" mentality: entrepreneurial, flexible, and open-minded. Fluent in both Dutch and English.
