Test Lead (Cloud Solutions)

We are looking for a Test Lead for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (1-2 days per week in office) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

Purpose of the Role:

The indivudal will lead and oversee all testing activities for software development, ensuring high-quality outcomes throughout the development life cycle. This involves managing the full testing process-from planning to execution and reporting-while collaborating closely with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders. The role ensures that both manual and automated tests are effectively implemented, identifies and mitigates risks, and contributes to the continuous improvement of testing processes and standards within the organisation.

As a Test Lead (Cloud Solutions) you will be responsible for:

• Leading the testing activities conducted by the in-house and supply chain teams, managing all phases of testing, including plans, timescales, test deliverables, and auditability.
• Providing authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution.
• Developing, executing, and reporting on complex test plans from requirement specifications and refined product backlog items, in accordance with agreed standards.
• Working closely with the Delivery Manager, Product Owner, technical SMEs and development teams to ensure the right solutions are developed to the highest quality.
• Review and help refine software requirements, both functional and non-functional.
• Quality Assurance oversight of functional, integration, and systems testing of software developed by supply chain development teams.
• Collaborating with other Test Leads to share knowledge and contribute to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice.

What we require from the candidate:

• Experienced in software solution testing, with a focus on Azure DevOps and technology stacks.
• Proficient in using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Test Manager.
• Willing to perform hands-on testing when required.
• Aerospace industry experience highly desirable but not essential.
