Test Lead Engineer (Mortgages Servicing team)

As a Test Lead Engineer in the Home Mortgage Servicing Engineering team, we are looking for someone to provide technical leadership to our testers, ensuring we are designing, maintaining, deploying and running our mortgage systems and environments efficiently. You'll ensure our systems and platforms are designed & managed in a resilient and secure manner, aligned to strategy, ensuring we're applying good engineering practices and principles.

This role is within The Mortgages Servicing team, which is Nationwide's Owner Occupier mortgage proposition. It will primarily focus on On Premise Windows based systems which run our System Of Record for Home (ALIAS) and a whole host of dependent systems.

You'll be leading engineers (predominately T3 partner resource offshore and onshore) across multiple teams, harnessing your experience of testing management techniques, technology and tooling to build our solutions. This will entail being accountable for the test design, testing and creating a right test approach. We have a diverse range of technologies and platforms primarily on-premises.

You'll be responsible for leading on technical decisions and choices and providing guidance on ensuring our test design and test execution conform to guardrails and best practice. You will also provide guidance and direction to a team of engineers to create fit for purpose artefacts that meet requirements of the organisation and fit the technology strategy.

A team player who can lead by example, you'll take end-to-end ownership for testing of ALIAS. You would provide technical expertise at parts and/or all stages of the delivery lifecycle, including providing technical leadership and consultancy to stakeholders. You will also lead and/or perform technical quality reviews within the team.

You may be required to work on-call according to business demand.

You'll have experience in:

• Knowledge of Mortgage Sales and Origination
• Knowledge of Mortgage Servicing Systems
• Expert in Testing and test engineering
• Leading test engineers, across automated testing, design, provision
• Defining and monitoring effective procedures, practices and principles for test engineering teams
• Working knowledge of test scripting frameworks.
• Capacity management

• SQL and database querying for data validation
• API and service testing
• JavaScript
• Tools such as UFT, Selenium, Jira, Zephyr Scale, Git
