Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS FT Tracheal Fellow (ST3+Equivalent)
Applications are invited for a Tracheal Fellow (ST 3+) who has an ENT, cardiothoracic, respiratory or paediatric background, to start as soon as possible, for one-year fixed term. The post holder will be responsible for the continued delivery of Tracheal Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. This post will play a central role in the provision of tracheal services at Great Ormond Street and will work with the other teams and specialties employed by the Trust. Training may include endoscopic approach to the airways (microlaryngoscopy, tracheobronchoscopy and flexible bronchoscopy), surgical exposure may include thoracic and tracheal procedures including reconstructions of airway and lung surgeries. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be expected to work with managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of the tracheal and thoracic service. The appointee will:
- Be managerially accountable to the core team of tracheal services.
- Provide continuing patient care in partnership with senior and junior colleagues and the tracheal CNS, including daily ward round when appropriate.
- Present on the CICU ward rounds every day in conjunction with the tracheal service and CICU team.
- Participate in the operative work for all the thoracic and tracheal cases in the operating room.
- Work closely with the Interventional Radiology team to facilitate patient care.

- Experience in Paediatrics with exposure to respiratory medicine/ ENT surgery / general surgery or cardiothoracic surgery at LEVEL ST 3 and above.

- Understanding of principles of clinical governance.
- Clinical experience in related paediatric specialties.
- Published research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to prioritise clinical needs.
