Trainee Accounts Assistant

Oliver James are currently recruiting for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join a Lloyd's Underwriting Syndicate who specialise in property, construction and casualty insurance.

If you are due to finish college/sixth form or already have and successfully completed a qualification in a relevant subject, this will significantly contribute to the foundational knowledge required in accounting and prove your capabilities.

Relevant A-Levels/Qualifications (A -B grade or equivalent):

• Mathematics: Studying mathematics would give you a solid foundation in calculus, algebra, and statistics, enhancing your analytical capabilities and preparing you for the numerical nature of accounting work.
• Economics: Understanding economics enables future accountants to grasp the external factors affecting businesses and economies, enriching their capability to analyse financial situations.
• Business: Develops critical thinking and decision-making skills, preparing you to tackle real-world business challenges you will encounter in your accounting career.

Some colleges/sixth forms may give you the option to complete your studies in Accounting, Finance, or Statistics - the above bullet points are mainstream qualifications.
