The UK Engineering Manager's role is to organise and coordinate the engineering and laboratory team and projects of SEC UK according to the Company's development strategy and market needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that the Company's Development Projects are well managed and meet all required objectives.
  2. Support business development with technical expertise and customer lobbying.
  3. Ensure close collaboration and technical exchange with the SEC division's managers (France, US, and Canada) and their Engineering teams.
  4. Support production and purchasing projects to improve product performances.
  5. Develop new concepts and products according to BU Technology Road Map.
  6. Manage the Company's New Product Introduction Process.
  7. Define the budget, resources, and their allocation through projects according to strategy and market needs.
  8. Ensure the competencies progress of the team and the associated training plan.
  9. Ensure deployment and application of engineering methods and processes in line with other SEC engineering departments.
  10. Support R&T activities led by the Eu R&T manager and develop internal and external partnerships (Laboratory, university ), including funded projects.
  11. Ensure KPI follow-up and reporting to top management.

Summary of responsibilities:

  1. Management of the Engineering department and their expertise level increase.
  2. Responsible for team competencies development.
  3. Ensure application and respect of the Development process, including APQP and annual local process review, in collaboration with other SEC technical managers.
  4. Responsible for SEC/SEP KPI achievement.
  5. Budget construction (including investments), follow-up, and reporting to SEC top management.
  6. Responsible for project development and associated key deliverables.
  7. Ensure respect of milestones, lead time, budget, and quality level.
  8. Ensure good partnerships with internal and external customers.
  9. Provide technical support to other company departments (R&T, Purchase, sales, manufacturing, ).

Technical:

  • Team activity and research support.
  • Process application and KPI follow-up.
  • Reporting project progress.
  • Internal and customer presentations.
  • Technical and scientific survey.
  • Good knowledge in mechanical, treatments, and design rules.

Financial:

  • Research of funded projects (support to Eu R&T manager).
  • Support of budget definition.
  • Budget allocation to projects, investments, follow-up, and reporting.
  • RFQ involvement by creating technical documentation (CM, STE, drawing, ) and technical presentations.

Management skills:

  • Able to manage a multi-functional team with different levels of knowledge.
  • Able to define smart objectives to reach the department's targets and report to top management.
  • Ability to motivate and challenge the team to reach objectives.
  • Participate fully in the Company's HSE programmes and ensure adherence to HSE rules and procedures.
Specificity of the job

Travel in UK, France, and international countries.
