DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a European VAT manager with experience in European VAT to support the EMEA VAT advisory team. This position involves tax research, providing VAT technical advice to business stakeholders, and working on tax and process automation projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide VAT advice to Amazon business stakeholders, including consolidating European VAT advice and responding to VAT queries.
  • Research new tax laws and assess their impact on Amazon.
  • Collaborate with technology teams on tax automation projects and process improvements.
Skills
  • Strong communicator and team player, able to work independently.
  • Effective collaborator across all organizational levels.
  • Proactive with ownership and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with tax technology tools and familiarity with AI is a plus.
A Day in the Life
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and communicating tax-related projects.
  • Identify and strategize process improvements using your expertise.
  • Collaborate with tax, business, and tech teams, documenting analyses and decisions.
  • Communicate effectively and influence partner teams.
  • Support external advisor engagements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 7 years of European VAT advisory experience, from a Big4 firm or in-house.
  • Interest or experience in tax technology and automation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional tax qualification, chartered accountant, or relevant legal degree.
  • International VAT experience in practice and industry, including cross-border supplies.
  • Experience in e-commerce or platform economy sectors.
