As a vital member of our practice, you'll work alongside a talented team of veterinary surgeons and nurses, delivering exceptional clinical care and ensuring the highest standards in everything we do. What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Building strong relationships with clients, offering expert advice and compassionate care to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
  2. Performing routine consultations, surgical procedures, and fulfilling prescription requests with confidence and precision.
  3. Playing an active role in implementing best practices and clinical protocols to uphold the highest standards of care.
  4. Engaging with clients via email and phone, providing support and answering queries to enhance their experience.

We can offer up to 40 hours per week across 4 days with potential to work from home one day per week if needed, including a Saturday rota (9am-12pm). No out of hours requirement as this is covered by Vets Now and a sister practice.

We provide a mix of routine GP work alongside more specialized procedures, including BOAS surgeries. Our practice is well-equipped with modern facilities, including in-house lab facilities, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Our current site features a dedicated theatre and dental suite, and we have exciting plans for a purpose-built site next year, further enhancing our capabilities.

Our friendly team consists of 3.5 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 1 Practice Manager, and 3 Receptionists. Among our vets, we have certificate holders in medicine, feline practice, and cardiology, and we are happy to support further certification depending on individual interests and career aspirations.

Based in East Lothian, our location provides easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the stunning Scottish countryside. Macmerry benefits from excellent transport links, with direct road access via the A1, making commuting simple. The nearby towns of Haddington and Musselburgh offer a great selection of shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities, while Edinburgh's vibrant culture, historic landmarks, and thriving arts scene are just a short drive away.
