On this four-week course, you’ll explore approaches to online learning and the digital tools you can use to adapt your programmes. You’ll also consider the implications of copyright and intellectual property when designing online programmes.

For educators used to teaching students in physical environments, the online learning space can be a daunting prospect.
This course will guide you through the key differences between online and in-person teaching, providing you with useful strategies for building virtual learning experiences.
You’ll also learn techniques for building excitement and making connections with your students, but you’ll as well as tips and tools for pacing, student interactions, and the overall structure of your online programme.

Whether it’s live or pre-recorded, there are a number of tools available to create a virtual learning experience, each with their own pros and cons.
From the equipment you need for live-presenting to the platforms you can use for hosting, you’ll delve into each aspect of the programme development and delivery process, helping you to decide which options are best for your programme each step of the way.
Learn from the experts helping the education sector adapt to online learning
Te PÅ« Tiaki Mana Taonga is the association of educators beyond the classroom in Aotearoa New Zealand. In conjunction with the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, the Te PÅ« Tiaki Mana Taonga project team deliver professional learning and support to the sector across the country.
This course is primarily designed for educators in Aotearoa New Zealand, working in settings beyond the classroom. It might also be of interest to educators from other countries in similar settings.
It is recommended that you have at least one year experience as an educator outside of regular classroom settings to make the most out of the insights in this course.
For this course, you will need access to a laptop or desktop and a digital camera, such as a smartphone.
