Overview of Role:

The role of an Accounts Assistant that supports the Head of Finance involves a variety of financial and administrative tasks. The position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of the finance department and maintaining the company's financial integrity whilst supporting cashiers and customer facing staff, team members.

Teamwork is essential, so an adaptable approach to work and a collaborative nature is key to working effectively with colleagues across all departments.

  • Ensuring that financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Reconciliation of all receipts and banking, ensuring that all payments received are correctly recorded in the accounting system.
  • Reconciliation of bank statements with company records to ensure that all transactions are accurate.
  • Supporting month end procedures, reporting and stocktaking.
  • Maintaining the Purchase Ledger, recording all purchases and expenses.
  • Ensuring that suppliers' invoices are properly filed and accounted for.
  • Supplier Payments, scheduling and processing payments to suppliers based on the agreed-upon terms.
  • Liaising with suppliers to handle payment inquiries and maintain good relationships.
  • Processing Payroll and ensuring personnel data is current.
  • Credit Control, managing and monitoring the company's credit control processes, ensuring that customers pay invoices on time.
  • Supporting day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and managing correspondence.
  • Ensuring a smooth flow of operations in the office by helping with ad hoc tasks.

About You:

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience working in Accounts
  • Preferred experience with Sage and Sage Payroll.
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Excel.
  • Be within a 45-minute commute by car of Hever Castle
