Aim of the Apprentice Gardener

To learn how to maintain the hotel gardens, kitchen garden, nursery, grounds and golf course to the highest possible condition, working amongst a team of gardeners

Apprentice Gardener - About you

  • Passion for gardening and the outdoors
  • Relevant work experience is desirable
  • Commitment to 2 years of apprenticeship
  • You will have keen eye for detail, organisational skills and confident in communicating with the team

Responsibilities of the Apprentice Gardener

  • To attend college on the required days to complete the apprenticeship qualifications and put your theory into practice
  • To take pride in keeping all areas clear from weed and leaf debris and forked over regularly to keep to the highest standard
  • Take ownership and responsibility with tasks as instructed by the Estate Manager and senior gardeners
  • To take pride in talking to guests about the grounds and gardens whenever required, in a positive and friendly manner
  • Assist the team in the production of high quality fruit, vegetables and foraged items for use by the hotel
