Your new role
We are looking for an Area Estates Maintenance Manager (voids) / Contracts manager to work within the Housing Operations and Voids Services team.
We are looking for a leader to help in the delivery of several projects within this area they include but are not limited to; Managing contractors carrying out void repair works and overseeing making safe regeneration properties.
The Area Estates Maintenance Manager / Contract manager will be responsible for the management of contractors and/or direct labour and setting up weekly/monthly performance meetings, delivering void repairs in tight timescales. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; CDM compliance, health and safety management, project programming, project finance, project delivery and scheduling sub-contractors to suit the demand.
This position is based at Nursling Depot - Unit 5 Mauretania Road, Nursling SO16 0YS.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.15pm and 7.30am - 3.15pm on a Friday.
Transport: A car is required for this role.
Timescale: This is likely to be at least a 12 month position, but could be extended
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced maintenance manager with experience in housing operations. You will ideally have a HNC / NVQ3 or equivalent education, with (or working towards) IOSH level 3, or significant experience in construction / management or relevant experience in managing property maintenance operations.
A relevant professional qualification e.g. CIOH, RICS, CIOB etc. is desirable with evidence of continually developing professional knowledge.
You will have management experience with a practical knowledge of the construction / property maintenance industry and a detailed understanding of providing an effective responsive and planned maintenance and void property service with knowledge, understanding and experience of managing a geographically dispersed and diverse workforce.
What you'll get in return
£29.11 - £31.76 umbrella per hour
