Aspire - Internal Medicine Certificate - Donnington Grove

Our Aspire Clinical Programme is a unique and transformative development opportunity for talented veterinary surgeons across our network. This programme offers funding and support for a BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate, complemented by extensive clinical mentoring from one of our clinicians, dedicated time in Years 2 and 3 to gain experience at our tertiary or mid-tier referral sites, and additional training and support in quality improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to complete a Medicine certificate as part of the Aspire programme.

The Aspire Clinical Programme is designed to fully support our veterinary surgeons through a carefully curated combination of academic study, clinical mentoring, and practical experience.

Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Medicine:

Tailored for small animal veterinarians, this program enhances medical knowledge, problem-solving, and decision-making for managing common conditions.

Participants will receive:

  • Funding support: Financial assistance for a BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate.
  • Clinical mentorship: Personalised mentoring from an experienced clinician to guide your learning journey.
  • Dedicated practical experience: Opportunities in Years 2 and 3 to work at our tertiary or mid-tier referral sites, offering hands-on experience in advanced clinical settings.
  • Quality improvement training: Additional resources and training in quality improvement to ensure comprehensive professional development.

You will be working within a large team across our three branches (no sole charge) carrying out consultations, surgery, work-ups and time to carry out day-to-day phone calls and other ancillary veterinary tasks.

Typically, the full-time position is 4 days a week plus our OOH rota which is shared evenly across a large team of Vets with full back-up when on call at night. The current rota pattern is 1 in 15 nights and 1 in 7 weekends.

However, work/life balance is important to us therefore part-time would be considered but full participation in the OOH rota would be expected.
