THE ROLE

As the interim Business Analyst in the Information Management department at Damen Naval, you bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions. You analyze business processes, understand stakeholder requirements, and translate them into actionable specifications. Your role ensures the successful alignment of technology with organizational objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this interim role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Identify and prioritize business requirements for IT projects.

  • Analyze Business Processes: Identify improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Support Organizational Changes: Assist in implementing new systems, processes, and technologies.

  • Evaluate Data: Interpret complex data sets to support data-driven decisions.

  • Work with Project Management: Contribute to project plans and business cases to ensure alignment with goals.

  • Develop Documentation: Create functional specifications, system design documents, and user stories.

  • Facilitate Communication: Ensure clear understanding between stakeholders and project teams.

  • Support Testing: Validate solutions to ensure business requirements are met.

  • Stay Informed: Assess industry trends and suggest improvements aligned with strategic goals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably acquired in a complex matrix organization.

  • Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly explain technical and functional constraints and challenges to both tech and non-tech colleagues.
  • Familiar with requirement analysis, tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of engineering and/or naval business processes.

  • Understanding of project management processes and tools.

  • Good command of the Dutch & English language (written & verbal).

  • Available to frequently work from our headquarter in Vlissingen.

  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

This temporary assignment is exclusively offered on a secondment (detachering) or temporary employment contract basis. Freelance or ZZP agreements are not considered due to current Dutch legislation.
