Job Description

Job Title: CAD Engineers x 2 (One senior and One Intermediate)
Location: Leeds, Yorkshire, UK

Overview:
My client is a leading tunneling subcontractor in the UK, known for providing high-quality, value-engineered solutions to complex tunneling and civil engineering challenges. Our expertise spans traditional tunneling techniques and innovative construction methods on large-scale projects. We are looking for an intermediate CAD Engineer to join our Tunneling and Structures Team.

Job Purpose:
The CAD Engineer will deliver and manage all civil engineering-related CAD design, utilizing the latest Autodesk software in 3D and 2D graphics to BIM Level 2 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce engineering drawings from rough sketches and as-built details.
  • Create construction details, including structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, and temporary works.
  • Work independently or as part of a project team to produce and maintain 3D CAD models within a common data environment.
  • Ensure CAD models comply with internal QA systems, project/client standards, and industry BIM procedures.
  • Identify and resolve spatial constraint and arrangement issues.
  • Assist senior engineering staff and the CAD Manager to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Promote collaboration within the engineering team and take responsibility for deliverables.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or HND (or equivalent) related to the built environment.
  • Fluent in English, with a minimum of GCSE or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Autodesk products, including AutoCAD 2D & 3D and Civils 3D.
  • Knowledge of steelwork and RC detailing.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling packages such as Revit, Rhino, and 3ds Max, as well as AECO-sim, MicroStation, and ProjectWise.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and design risk assessment processes.
