With ambitious plans for further expansion, Airpelago is poised to double its turnover in the coming years. Currently operating in Sweden, the company is aggressively expanding its reach to several countries across Europe, including the UK, France, and Germany.

About the position:

The CFO at Airpelago plays a pivotal role in driving the company's financial success. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the executive team, the CFO is responsible for leading Airpelago's financial operations and ensuring its continued financial growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with Airpelago's overall business objectives
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting
  • Manage and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and other financial institutions to secure funding and optimize financial resources
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws
  • Lead the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions, identifying potential opportunities for strategic growth and expansion
  • Be a part of the management team; Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to formulate and execute Airpelago's long-term business strategy
  • Decide on company structure
  • Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports to the CEO and board
  • Ensure liquidity management with monthly follow-ups on liquidity sensitivity
  • Own, handle and optimize billing processes
  • Evaluate financing needs for potential expansion into other markets
  • Oversee external accounting services; support setting up subsidiaries in the UK, Germany, and France
  • Lead efforts to implement QESOs in new markets with legal support from external local legal firms
  • Support group accounting from 2025; improve controlling functions and manage VAT rules for non-EU transactions
  • Automate and outsource processes where possible, i.e. reporting routines and supporting systems
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CFO or in a senior accounting leadership role in a similar environment
  • Proven success in leading financial operations for globally present companies or experience across multiple European countries
  • In-depth understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and their implications for financial reporting and compliance
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to a diverse audience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing finance function
  • Fluency in Swedish and English; additional languages are advantageous
  • Based in Gothenburg
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
