Leaders in the Arena is helping one of our internal portfolio companies hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The company is a diverse global portfolio of technology businesses led by independent entrepreneurs. With operations in the US, UK, India, and Philippines, our companies operate in verticals including research and consulting, media, advertising, training and certification, compliance management, and healthcare technology.
The right candidate will play a role in the growth of our global business units and establish and manage controls and procedures around financial reporting and internal control. In the beginning, this role will be very hands on, but is also going to extend across oversight of a team of Finance Controllers.
Responsibilities
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements on US GAAP
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Managing external banking relationships including sourcing new accounts when necessary
- AR management / AP process management
- Establishing internal auditing processes and protocols / expense management
- Managing the budget process
- Coordinating cash flow forecasting in the Group to properly manage liquidity across the enterprise
- Financial modelling and the ability to work with the Executive teams on the financial aspect of go to market and business planning for new products and services
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Establishing accounting and internal control systems
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance or a similar field from a respected institution
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance as a leader
- Strong understanding and experience with US GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel (advanced level)
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities, able to manage and manipulate complex datasets.
- Experience and aptitude to work with multi-location global teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
