Context & Job description

The ESRF is a world class research facility that produces intense X-ray beams to explore matter at the nano-scale. IT systems and solutions are vital infrastructure for the smooth running of all ESRF Divisions. It is therefore particularly important that all hardware and software solutions are properly protected against cyber-attacks.

The infrastructure and software solutions are developed by several teams primarily reporting to the Experiments Division, Instrumentation Services and Development Division (ISDD) and Technical Infrastructure Division (TID).

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will need to unite these teams around shared cyber security concerns, without having direct hierarchical authority over them.

Your main missions will include:

  • Writing and updating the set of cybersecurity policies
  • Defining and updating the Action Plan and priorities
  • Coordinating actions across Divisions
  • Updating the risk analysis and launching necessary audits
  • Overseeing implementations by the IT Groups
  • Handling vulnerability alerts and validating remediation actions
  • Keeping the IT teams informed about threats and solutions
  • Serving as the contact point for external entities and authorities on cybersecurity related topics
  • Defining and monitoring indicators and reporting to management.
Expected profile
  • Higher university degree (Master, MSc, DESS, Ingeniera Superior, Licenciatura, Laurea or equivalent) in IT or cybersecurity.
  • Good knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments.
  • 10 years of experience in the IT domain.
  • Good management and communication skills for smooth interaction with other teams.
Working conditions
