Your customer-centric approach ensures you understand and engage effectively with both buyers and sellers to boost growth and retention.

About the role
Take overall responsibility for marketing at Car & Classic. Lead a high-performing marketing function to accelerate revenue growth and improve customer communications. Develop and execute cohesive marketing strategies across channels including paid media, CRM, and branding, all to double the business annually over the next 3 years.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Grow efficiently: Develop lean marketing strategies to establish a repeatable cost-efficient marketing machine to set us up for 'bigger bet' spending in 2026 and beyond.

  • Double revenue growth: Drive demand, supply and trade communications to support the doubling of revenue in FY2025 and beyond.

  • Optimise paid media performance: Use paid channels to generate contribution margin accretive revenue, supply and demand for the site whilst staying within the paid media budget.

  • Enhance CRM effectiveness: Build on the success of our email database and campaigns to double engagement via email driving significantly higher bids, favourites and engagement via this channel.

  • Strengthen brand positioning: Develop a clear and cohesive brand voice that resonates with classic car buyers, sellers and professionals, increasing trust and brand loyalty.

  • Lean team development: Recruit and supplement with agency resource as appropriate a high-performing, data-driven marketing team.

  • Improve customer acquisition and retention: Develop strategies that grow the database of registered users and reduce churn among paying customers.

The skills, attributes and experience you must have:

  • Growth Marketing Expertise: Proven track record of driving growth at similar-stage businesses, with hands-on experience with marketplace businesses.

  • Highly data-driven: An analytical mindset helps you take informed decisions, optimise campaigns, and track and react to KPIs such as CAC, LTV, and ROAS.

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to craft and execute a long-term marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives and market opportunities.

  • Leadership and Team Management: Experience in building and leading a collaborative marketing team and driving accountability for performance.

  • Branding and Communication: Strong experience in brand development and storytelling to create a unified brand image across all customer touchpoints.

  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Ability to develop a deep understanding of the classic car buyer and seller audience, focusing on their needs and behaviours to tailor communications and campaigns effectively.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with CRM systems (such as Blueshift), email platforms (SendGrid), and paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta), with a hands-on approach when necessary.

  • Lean, Agile and Adaptable: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot and adapt to new market conditions and opportunities.

  • Budget Management: Experience in efficiently managing and making the best of a small marketing budget to maximise ROI, ensuring measurable improvements on spend.
