Chief Operating Officer - Diocese of Joliet

Looking for an opportunity to put your faith and leadership expertise to use in a new and rewarding environment? The Diocese of Joliet is now seeking to hire a Chief Operating Officer. This brand-new role will directly assist the Bishop in carrying out the mission of the Diocese. The expansive array of responsibilities includes oversight of the Catholic schools, financial management, talent management, development and fundraising, shared services, and more.

The right candidate will be collaborative, strategic, flexible, and a practicing Catholic with a proven track record of highly effective leadership roles.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's Degree and preferably an MBA, with a concentration in Finance/Management/Operations/Strategy.
  2. 15+ years of work experience in a business setting. Proven track record in leadership and general management and developing and executing budget and operating plans.
  3. Experience in managing teams of 100+ people in a multifunctional organization, with annual budgets greater than $50 million.
  4. Experience leading organizational changes and working in partnership with others.
  5. Strategic thinker - sees beyond day-to-day activity and plans for change.
  6. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including proven ability to attract, recruit, and develop talent.
  7. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
  8. Since this is a ministerial position, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, and must know, profess and act consistently in accordance with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
