Description Owing to continued growth, the company finds itself in a transition from a small start-up environment to an established, highly successful, medium-sized company. During this journey, there is the challenge of managing the implementation of required new processes and systems, whilst not stifling the collaborative and collegial working culture which the company values.

This role requires the successful candidate to firstly gain a clear and thorough understanding of the processes the business currently employs to develop its software and research new profit-making ideas. They will collaborate with the executive management team to improve the development and organisational workflows and processes whilst providing strategic leadership to the organisation.

You must have gained significant experience from a variety of operational areas within a technology and/or trading business. Most importantly and critical to proceeding to an interview for the role, you must have worked for a company whose revenues and staff numbers grew at a significant rate where you were instrumental in implementing the necessary processes so the company could successfully manage its transition.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the creation of strategy and business roadmaps.
  • Plan and coordinate financial and business planning and execute the annual budget process as relevant to all parts of the business.
  • Overseeing the operations and activity of staff.
  • Designing and smoothly implementing practical and beneficial processes around prioritisation, workflows, and systems and monitoring to ensure that the strategy for the business is efficiently. implemented and communicated across the relevant teams.
  • Having an oversight on how current projects are progressing and be able to absorb what everyone is working on.
  • Ensuring the productivity across multiple development, statistical, trading ops and finance teams adheres to wider company goals.
  • Building relationships across the business to understand and engage with key stakeholders and all levels of staff.
  • Developing an environment with systems and processes in place which will enable and encourage business opportunities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Track record of providing strategic and operational leadership, from planning through to execution.
  • Experience of working with, and getting the best from, teams of gifted software developers and/or quant statisticians.
  • Hands on, practical and pragmatic approach to pushing through change, whilst managing team and management expectations.
  • Commercially and financially astute.
  • Strong initiator and entrepreneurial thinker.
  • Possess the technical knowledge to effectively oversee software development projects.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies.
  • An interest in and understanding of high frequency/algorithmic trading.
  • Strong academic background: Numerical/Scientific degree from a leading university.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in technology and infrastructure.
  • An excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, executive coach, relationship builder and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams.
  • Superb organisation, time and project management skills.
