Job Description

We are Cafcass - the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service - and we represent children in family court cases in England.

Independently advising the family courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests, we speak up for over 140,0000 children and young people every year ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings are heard. In short, our role is to be their voice.

We want an exceptional experience for every child, everywhere, every time. We know this is ambitious but if this ambition resonates with you, we have opportunities across the country for qualified social workers interested in becoming a Family Court Adviser / Children's Guardian.

Our teams work flexibly and remotely, so whether you live near one of our 30+ offices across the country or not, this shouldn't be a critical consideration. We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing the resources and equipment to have independence over your work, whilst also providing the support and managerial oversight to help you continue to develop.

We are also passionate about helping colleagues maintain their wellbeing and achieve a healthy balance between professional and personal lives - the four wellbeing days per year are just one of the ways we do this.

We encourage you to click through and find out more about how Family Court Advisers are the voice of children and young people when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures. You may also want to find out more about the health and wellbeing support, as well as the excellent benefits we offer.

We are a diverse, inclusive organisation that is a safe space for colleagues with shared aspects of identity and lived experience, which helps ensure we provide a service which promotes the diversity and uniqueness of children and families from all backgrounds. We especially welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds as we strive to ensure our workforce better reflects the diversity of the children and families we work with.
