Commercial Finance Analyst

Gleeson Recruitment Group are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Leicester based client in their commercial finance team. This team is essential in supporting divisions and conducting comprehensive financial analysis to drive profit maximisation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in commercial reporting, analysing profitability, and making strategic commercial decisions.

We're looking for candidates with commercial flair who can paint a picture with numbers and develop excellent, transparent relationships with stakeholders. The Commercial Finance Analyst position is paying up to £55,000 + bonus and enhanced benefits scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the forecasting and budgeting process for the P&L, covering sales through to net margin.
• Provide detailed commentary on variances compared to forecasts and prior performance.
• Produce and analyse weekly reports on Gross Margin performance versus targets, aiding understanding of discrepancies and offering ad hoc analysis as required.
• Report on the performance of sales.
• Contribute to the preparation of seasonal product group profitability reports presented to divisional directors.
• Manage the cost control process for Product teams across Head Office, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly variance reviews, accruals, and prepayments, with support from one direct report.

About You:

• Previous experience in a similar commercial finance role.
• ACCA/CIMA Qualified, or finalist
• Excellent analytical skills with the capability to interpret extensive data sets for non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence across multiple business areas.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with SQL and Power BI (desirable but not essential).
• The proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
