Job Description

We're a fast-moving, ambitious and growing organization with employees based across the UK, US and Asia. Our Global Finance Team is based in the UK with a smaller team in the US office. With financial planning a key business priority, our Commercial Finance Team focuses on delivering a forward-looking and commercial proactive plan to manage our business including EBITDA triggers, value drivers, margin, and modeling - leading commercial thinking in everything that we do.

We're looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to support the financial planning and decision-making with a focus on Warehouse & Distribution, IT, and Capital expenditures Globally. You'll understand, analyze, and interpret business requirements and needs, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure that deliverables meet the needs of both internal departments and end users.

You will be analytical (of course) and proactive, able to think outside the box, to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives. You'll have fantastic communication and influencing skills with the ability to work in a demanding (but very exciting) and growing environment.

The Responsibilities:

  • Manage month end for operating costs - including creating and posting journals, variance analysis of actuals vs forecasts, investigating why variances have occurred and communicating risks and opportunities, and preparation of monthly management account slides.
  • Manage the month end accrual reconciliation and ensure month end compliance with audit requirements.
  • Understand and recommend changes to the booking of actuals in order to gain further insights into the profitability of different markets and to ensure departmental reports are efficient and effective.
  • Develop/Maintain weekly/monthly reporting tools to drive valuable business insights for decision making - by leveraging our BI reporting tool (Tableau), ERP system, and HR system (Cascade).
  • Ensure business partners have fit for purpose invoice trackers and have regular touch bases with them to monitor its proper usage.
  • Provide cashflow inputs to financial control on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager in preparing robust budgets and forecasts, working with the business to support and challenge their submissions to finance.
  • Business partner with key stakeholders in order to manage budgets, produce forecasts, and challenge the business to achieve the strategic roadmap.

The Person:

  • You'll be super-analytical, a 'whizz' with data and numbers, and able to use this to influence, challenge, and support commercial decisions and spot new business opportunities within your area of responsibility.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and priorities, you'll be a great communicator, able to collaborate cross-functionally and within all levels.
  • Have an accounting qualification or be part qualified.
  • Proactive, curious, and focused, you'll want to make an impact and will ask questions, pull information, and bring the right people along with you.
  • Flexible, happy working in a fast-paced and changing environment (not much will faze you!).

The Skills:

  • Tableau (advantage)
  • Advanced Excel (essential)
  • Navision (advantage)

The Benefits:

  • Product Allowance (2 free pairs of shoes a year and 50% off 20 pairs)
  • Hybrid and flexible working hours
