COMMUNITY ADULT PERINATAL CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST NELFT North East London Foundation Trust
COMMUNITY ADULT PERINATAL CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST (REDBRIDGE & BARKING)
Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months
Hours: Frequency 1:50; Category A - 3% on call supplement (Pro-rata)
Location: Barley Court, Goodmayes Hospital, Barley Lane, Ilford, Essex, IG3 8XJ
Qualifications needed:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- CCT or equivalent
- Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
- Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
- Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
To be successful in your application, you will need:
- To demonstrate that your values are in line with that of NELFT's values

- Essential understanding of current developments in mental health care
- To be a team player
You will be expected to:
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adult people with mental health needs, across Redbridge and Barking
- Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team
- Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals
- Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata)
- Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative
- Work alongside 2wte consultants, a 0.6wte Specialty Doctor, 0.2wte Senior Trainee and 1wte Core Trainee
- Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice

- Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
