The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has an existing opportunity for two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to be a crucial part in helping drive improvements to our patients' experiences and in helping contribute to the development of our new model of care.
These substantive posts are within our male medium secure and womens blended services at The Edenfield Centre.
While our new model of care is under development, and definitive medical job planning is under review, it is anticipated that the post holders will be the Responsible Clinician for 12 - 16 male inpatients or 10 - 12 female inpatients, following their caseload from admission to discharge.

Main duties of the jobThis is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. This opportunity could be for a full-time post within either our womens blended secure service (WBS) or our male medium secure service. Either role would allow ta successful candidate to contribute to the development of our new model of care and to shape the future of secure services for women and men from Greater Manchester.
You will be supported by a full and expanding complement of multidisciplinary colleagues, with the current position being that you will work with a medical secretary, junior doctor(s), clinical psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and our nursing colleagues. To support our service user's physical health, there is additionally a visiting GP, dentist and well-established physical health team.
Alongside inpatient management, additional clinical activities include on-call work, access assessments to the service, and a range of additional activities dependent on negotiation with consultant colleagues and our new model of care.

Person Specification Qualifications- Full GMC registration and license to practice
- AC/ Section 12. Approved at time of commencing post or within three months of so doing
- Entry on the Specialist Register of the GMC or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
- Experience in multi-disciplinary team working
