There is an exciting opportunity within the North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community Services in Enfield. The role offered is that of a Consultant in The Enfield North Locality Team covering one of the Community General Adult Teams in the London Borough of Enfield. Main duties of the job

This post offers 10 Programmed Activities per week - 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC) and up to 2.5 PAs for supporting professional activity (SPA). The post holder will be required to provide clinical and professional leadership and to take part in related management activities. As a senior clinician, the post holder will have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of clinical pathways and priorities.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that falls under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. Job responsibilities

The post-holder will act as clinical lead for the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working in close collaboration with the team manager and other senior clinicians in the team.

This is the post of Consultant Psychiatrist within the Enfield North Locality Team within the North London NHS Foundation Trust. The North Locality Team is one of two Core Community Mental Health Teams (North and South) that together would cover the borough of Enfield. There are sister teams in the other boroughs of the trust covered by other consultant colleagues.

Person Specification Qualifications and Experience

• Within six months of obtaining a CCT or on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
• Training and experience in General Adult Psychiatry.
• Full GMC Registration.
• Section 12 Approved and an Approved Clinician.
• Registered for the Continuing Professional Development Programme in the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• Training in the full range of effective therapeutic techniques to include Psychoeducation, medication and Psychological Therapies including MBT.
• Membership of a Medical Defense Union.
• Medical students, psychiatric trainees and other NHS Staff (teaching).
• Experience of working in Community.
• A special interest in and/or further training in a model of psychological therapy.
• Teaching (Experience in Teaching).
• Ability to use a wide range of teaching techniques and audio-visual aids.

Management and Audit

• Participation in Medical Audit.
• Management Training.
• Management Skills.
• Understanding of contracting, finance and activity monitoring.

Service Development

• Understanding of leadership.

£105,504 to £139,882 a year plus £2,162 of London Zone Weighting per annum.
