Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatristto join our Yorkshire Region, working across our West Yorkshire sites consisting of HMP Leeds Category B remand, HMP Wakefield Category A and HMP Wealstun Category C.Within this role you will be working collaboratively with the multidiaplinary team across all 3 sites

Hours

Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm

We can offer some flexibility with shift times if required

This position is a full time role working 40 hours per week,youll receive an annual salary up to £189,900per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As aConsultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite
  • Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision
  • Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required

  • Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Up to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PD
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation
