We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken. HMP Stocken is a category C training prison housing around 1056 patients, the majority of whom are aged between 21-40 years. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver support to adult males with complex mental health and trauma needs.
Hours
20 hours per week works across 2.5 days. We are happy to create a rolling rota (2 days one week, 3 the next) and are flexible regarding which days are worked (Monday to Friday). We are also able to offer a full-time role if working across both HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree.
Salary
This position is 20 hours per week; you'll receive an annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the case load onsite.
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.
- Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications required:
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation
